If a student or visitor has a flyer, poster, or other printed material to post on campus, here’s what you need to know to help:
- Virginia Western does not require pre-approvals to post on bulletin boards.
- Visitors may drop off flyers at the Student Activities desk for work-study students to post as a courtesy, or they may walk campus and post on their own.
- Materials are limited to posting only on boards, using pushpins.
- Do not use any tape.
- Do not post on glass, walls, windows, doors, bathroom stalls, etc.
- Extra pushpins can be found at the Student Activities info desk.
- Please be courteous and do not cover other postings.
- Materials can be posted to any bulletin board on campus, as long as that board is not labeled for a specific use.
- Student Activities and Campus Police regularly monitor boards.
- Student Activities removes flyers for events with dates in the past. At the end of each semester, all flyers are removed.
- Flyers and posters promoting illegal items or unlawful acts will be removed. Â Staff also remove damaged or defaced flyers.
- If someone presents a flyer that you are unsure should be posted, please direct the person or the flyer to the Student Activities Office for assistance.
